چکیده
Two specimens of the butterfly blenny, Blennius ocellaris, were caught off coast Ordu (Black Sea, Turkey) in April 2021 by trammel net. The aim this paper is to further document occurrence and distribution blenny for Black Sea Turkish marine ichthyofauna provide first morphometric, reproduction, genetic data on species fauna species. Some morphometric meristic characters measured presented as percentage total length (TL%). All measurements except eye diameter, pre-anal length, maximum body depth higher male individual. The infection was characterised by moderately high parasitaemia, with symptoms of anaemia, leukopaenia a...
متن کاملFirst report of a swordfish (Xiphias gladius Linnaeus, 1758) beneath open-sea farming cages in the Western Mediterranean Sea
An adult swordfish (Xiphias gladius L.) was reported for the first time at coastal Mediterranean fish-farm facilities. This record highlights the necessity to assess the potential ecological changes to wild fish assemblages caused by coastal farming activity, especially to this type of endangered large migratory fish predator, which could be taken into account in future management strategies.

As in many parts of the world, aquaculture production in the Mediterranean has been expanding rapidly over recent years (Basurco & Lovatelli, 2005). The continuous decline of ocean fisheries stocks has provided impetus for rapid growth in aquaculture. Global production of farm fish has more than doubled in the past 20 years with the growing demands of an expanding population, and it seems that ...
